Q: CAN YOU WALK US THROUGH YOUR CURRENT MORNING ROUTINE?

A: Read, Write, Meditate, Pray, Move. It's been the same for over a decade now. It grounds me. Then a shower and breakies and off I go!

Q: WHAT DOES YOUR SKINCARE REGIMEN LOOK RIGHT NOW?

A: It's winter in the desert so I'm focusing on hydration, moisture, and sun protection. In the AM, I cleanse with the KYPRIS Cleanser Concentrate, followed by a little something we're working on, a microemulsion of Antioxidant Dew & Beauty Elixir I : 1000 Roses, followed by Puff of Love and Pot of Shade and a kiss of our Lip Elixir Balm. In the PM, cleanse with the Cleanser Concentrate, make a microemulsion of Moonlight Catalyst & Beauty Elixir I: 1000 Roses, followed by Puff of Love, Ad Astra, and a swipe of Lip Elixir Balm. If I need to bribe myself to workout, I turn it into a skin treatment by applying Cerulean and stepping on my yoga mat or hitting the gym. If I want a little glowy, midweek zhuzh, I might apply Deep Forest Clay or Glow Philtre while writing some emails.

Q: NOW THAT LIFE HAS SHIFTED MORE INTO THE VIRTUAL SPACE, HOW HAS YOUR EVERYDAY MAKEUP LOOK CHANGED?

I don't really wear makeup. Curl my lashes. A little brow pencil and or gel.... Maybe a lippy to brighten things up. A swipe of shimmery color like from our Shimmer Palette. If you had to recommend three products from your line to any newcomers to your brand, what would they be and why?

Q: IF YOU HAD TO RECOMMEND THREE PRODUCTS FROM YOUR LINE TO ANY NEWCOMERS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

Definitely a microemulsion, which is a serum or serums of choice and your favorite Beauty Elixir. This combination is signature to KYPRIS and anyone who uses this combination quickly discovers the magic of the line. Hydration, soothing, balance, glow, diminishing the appearance of sun overexposure like texture or hyperpigmentation. In just a few lunar cycles you will absolutely love the differences you see in your complexion. Also, the Lip Elixir Balm. She really quenches and soothes thirsty lips. So often lip products make you feel like you have to use more and more, but with the Lip Elixir Balm - the more often you use the formula, the less you need. Plus the aromatherapy is exquisite. It's like kissing among night blooming jasmine. Very proud of this formula.

Q: WHAT IS THE MOST RECENT WELLNESS PRACTICE THAT YOU’VE GOTTEN INTO AND HOW DO YOU IMPLEMENT IT INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE?

Steps. Walking. It's amazing what a difference being intentional about getting 8k-10k steps each day can do to your sense of well being. I also really love the concept of steps vs cardio or walking. They don't need to be taken quickly or at a particular pace. You can just mosey and get all kinds of amazing benefits.

Q: TELL US WHAT INSPIRES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR BRAND. WHAT CAN YOU LEAVE WITH OUR AUDIENCE ABOUT STAYING INSPIRED, LIVING YOUR PURPOSE, AND YOUR WORK IN THE WORLD?

A: One of the foundational aspects of KYPRIS that is not something we really talk about is our work within our supply chains. I'm from a small beach town in southern Florida, but half of my family are / were farmers. When you have a relationship with land and work land, you understand how very laborious that care is. Goddess bless all farmers. Truly. It's some of the most difficult work there is and yet where would we be without our farmers. One of the first things I realized when making KYPRIS formulas was how materially intense each of these ingredients is. 

When we named Beauty Elixir I: 1000 Roses - it's because it literally contains the oil of more than 1000 Roses. Almost 2000 thousand actually. Each of those blossoms is hand picked on a woman-owned biodynamic farm before sunrise or early morning.

And I love our biochemists and engineers just as much. The future will undoubtedly be engineered, and I'm so proud that we get to use technologies developed in places like MIT and to support academic research for the ocean and in kind find extraordinary actives like our bacillus extracts.

These formulas are filled with people and places and farmers and scientists doing extraordinary work.

Our formulas are each little worlds unto their own, constellations of immense love and wisdom. The culmination of generations of care and experimentation and discovery and commitment. The culmination of the work that goes into each of these pieces humbles me with awe and inspiration and immense respect as a steward and artist and entrepreneur.

I hope when people use our products they can feel the exquisiteness of all they do - whether it's the array of $1,000,000 per kg peptides in Ad Astra or upcycled jasmine wax in Puff of Love or UN Global Compact Shea in Lip Elixir Balm, I deeply hope our work at KYPRIS honors each team's work that make these creations possible. Whether they realize it or not, I think it’s all of this love and care and quality that draws our community to us.

Living one's purpose and offering one's work to the world.... This is a tricky one because I think that my understanding of this phrase has evolved a lot in the last decades. Ever since I volunteered or worked, I've had my heart's compass aligned with women and wellness and the environment and pleasure and a deeper relationship with what is. However, this sense of purpose has been called different names, worn cloaks of different colors, spoken in different languages, and expressed itself in different devotions.

What I know today that I didn't know 20 years ago is how utterly important health and well being are. I know intimately how not feeling well can make relationships and experiences a healthy version of myself might absolutely LOVE feel like torture to an unwell or struggling version of me. So if living one's purpose is important to you too, please take really good care of you - mind, body, spirit, community. You deserve your time, attention, Love, care, consideration, and priority.
